Raw Stream#
Communication is always lossy. You can never straight up “dump” your thoughts into another human’s mind.
In computer-science-speak, there is Serialization taking place, but in contrast to computers, our serialization process (putting thoughts into words and verbalizing them) is lossy. That means that part of the construct in your mind gets thrown out of the window.
Then there is filtering involved. First, you follow social conventions and maybe soften your otherwise “hard truths” in order not to hurt your conversational partner. Second, you adapt your words to the background of your partner, but keep in mind that your knowledge about their background is limited.
These mechanisms result in mental overhead for the speaker.
With the raw stream I propose a style of conversation that explicitly tries to minimize this overhead. Think of it as “speaking one’s thoughts” unencumbered.
